Livejournals are for whining
A car got stolen and our dear old kitty has spontaneously gone blind. Yeah. That's just great. If something GOOD wants to happen this week, I'm not going to turn it down.


Update: China, the kitty, seems to be getting better. Thanks for the e-hugs, guys.

Now if they can only find the car...

Well damn, I'm sorry. Animals can do surprisingly well without sight, though. We had a dog when I was a kid who went blind and continued on for nearly a decade that way. He'd still fetch balls by listening for where they fell and he could navigate his way around the house as long as we didn't move stuff around.

Have you taken your cat to the vet yet?

kitty :( i've heard cats really adapt well to lack of sight though, cause cats are awesome like that. how old is he/she?

She's ancient, 16 years old. She always had weird vision, but watching her panic while navigating the house by bumping her face into walls was a heartache.

Thankfully, it seems to have been temporary. She's responding to movement again. Apart from her eyesight, she's very lively for a cat her age.

Gort's cat is 19 and still beating up other cats, despite her lack of teeth, and having been hit by cars twice. They seem like tough little beasts :)
Glad it sounds like it's getting better, though, it really tears you up when stuff happens to pets..
