I can draw in my sleep
I'm not happy with Wednesday's EOI line work, I could not take the time to go over it properly like I usually do, but I got things done and I'm still in the grind. I'd intended to go straight to bed after finishing the strip but ended up sleeping on a chair in the emergency room instead.

Shannon has been very very sick the past few days and I spent Wednesday checking up on her every hour. Finally had to have her taken to the hospital and she is currently finally sleeping in the ICU. Her diabetes has gotten much, much worse out of the blue, it was previously controlled by diet and she is very thin now so it's not like her blood sugar was even on the radar for us. But while she was sick she wasn't eating well and that set this off. They're telling me she should be okay in a few more days, they're just going to keep her on IVs until her sugars and such are back where they should be. Daniel and I just went to see her and she was finally genuinely asleep. Bleh, I wish I'd gotten her in sooner but it was a fight to do it.

I have had two friends with diabetes, and neither of them will go to the doctor when they should. One of my friends didn't start taking her health seriously until she developed diabetic neuropathy (basically, all the nerve endings in her legs registered pain constantly). For a while they thought she might be stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Then, when she made a nearly miraculous recovery after about a year, she started treating her body like shit again.

I hope Shannon recovers quickly and remembers this the next time you try to get her to go to the doctor.

Ouch, does diabetes hurt? That post makes it sound like it hurts.

Also wow the comic's back, I thought you died seriously.

Best wishes for Shannon's health.

And if you ever feel bad about the linework on your comic, console yourself that it's still better than anything I'll ever put out. ;)

I gotta watch out for that myself... I was diagnosed D2 excellent control, by an entire life of eating healthy, and thin.
